1.Who we are
BIOPRIUM (“BIOPRIUM”, “we”, “us”) is an early-stage genomics technology company. We are responsible for the information described in this notice. You can reach us at biopriumgenomics@gmail.com.
This notice covers the website only. The BIOPRIUM platform is not yet available to the public. When it is, the information it handles, including genetic data, will be covered by separate agreements and by the platform’s own privacy policy.
2.What we collect
When you contact us or ask about a subscription
Your name, email address, organization, the topic you choose and your message. A subscription inquiry also includes the package you are interested in.
When you sign up for BIOPRIUM News
Your email address.
When you create an account
Your email address and password, or, if you sign in with Google, your Google account’s name, email address and profile photo. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store them. After you sign up we ask how you heard about BIOPRIUM, what you plan to use it for and whether you want our newsletter.
When you sign in or sign up
Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are not an automated program, using information about your browser and device.
When you browse
The technical information every browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type, device, the page you came from and the pages you visit. Sections 3 and 4 explain what we do with it.
The website does not ask for, and is not built to receive, genetic files, health records or patient information. Please don’t send them to us through its forms or by email. If you do, we will not use them, and we will delete them.
4.Analytics
We use two analytics tools to understand how the website is used.
Vercel Web Analytics, for every visitor
Our hosting provider counts page views, the sites that sent visitors, and visitors’ country, device type and browser. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It tells visits apart with a code made from the request that is discarded within a day, so it cannot follow you across days or across other websites.
Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies
Google Analytics records the pages you view, how long you stay on them, which sections of a page you reach, how your visit ends, and whether you sent one of our forms, but never what you wrote in it. It also records the site that sent you, your approximate location, which it works out from your IP address without storing the address, and your device and browser. We use it to see things like how many visits end after one page, so we can make the site more useful.
We have turned off Google Analytics’ advertising features and Google signals, so this information is not used for advertising or linked to your Google account. We do not use analytics to try to learn anything about your health.
5.How we use information
- To reply to your messages and subscription inquiries.
- To create and run your account.
- To send BIOPRIUM News if you asked for it. Email us at any time to stop it.
- To protect the website and our users from abuse and automated sign-ups.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies and the newsletter, on our contract with you to run your account, on our legitimate interests to answer inquiries and keep the site secure, and on legal obligations where they apply.
7.How long we keep it
- Messages and inquiries: as long as we need to answer them and keep a record of our conversation with you.
- Your account: until you delete it or ask us to.
- Newsletter sign-up: until you unsubscribe.
- Google Analytics data: no more than 14 months.
- Your cookie choice: 6 months, after which we ask again.
8.Your choices and rights
You can change your cookie choice or unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent you have given, and opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell or share it, but you can still ask.
To make a request, email biopriumgenomics@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within the time the law where you live requires. You can use an authorized agent where the law allows it. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
9.Children
The website is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
10.Where information is processed
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for those transfers.
11.Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections, a bot check on sign-in and passwords we never see. No website is completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission.
12.Changes to this notice
When we change this notice we will update the date at the top. If we add a new kind of cookie or analytics tool, we will ask for your choice again before using it.
