About Us

During August of 2025, the current founders, Wasif K. and Jayden B., started working on a research project in genetics geared towards CRISPR. Together, they developed a project focused on HLA-DQB1*02:02:01:01, an allele involved in the HLA-DQ2.5 complex responsible for presenting gluten-derived peptides to the immune system. They designed a CRISPR-based approach that could modify the gene in a way that reduced harmful gliadin presentation while preserving its normal immune function. This resulted in a 27-page research paper and an award-winning project at a fair.

The more they worked on the project, they realized the genomic science was advancing rapidly, but the process of turning genetic information into a potential treatment was still fragmented. That spark became the foundation for BIOPRIUM. BIOPRIUM was born from the belief that the process they had gone through for a single celiac disease target could be unified, accelerated, and eventually applied to thousands of genetic conditions. BIOPRIUM was born from the belief that personalized medicine should not have to begin from zero every time.
